IRNA – Russian President V. Putin’s special envoy for Syrian Affairs Alexander Lavrentiev discussed issues of mutual interest with Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari here on Saturday.
In a meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments related to Syria.
Lavrentiev already met with Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani.
Presidents Putin and Trump reached agreement on the sidelines of G-20 Meeting concerning holding ceasefire in southern area of Syria and it is said that in today’s meeting, the results of that agreements were transferred to Iranian senior officials.
Astana-5 talks were held in Kazakhstan capital late June and the next round of the talks are to be held in Tehran in August. Experts from Iran, Russia and Turkey are to participate in the Tehran meeting to discuss the latest situation of talks concerning de-escalation of tension in certain regions of Syria.
Last week, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov visited Tehran and discussed bilateral relations, regional developments and the latest situation in implementation of the JCPOA with a number of Iran’s officials, including deputies of Foreign Ministry.
