Tasnim– Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan slammed the Israeli regime for being at the bottom of insecurity in Muslim countries and other parts of the world.
“A world free of violence and extremism would be a world free of the Zionist regime, and this is what the Islamic world will be shouting on the Quds Day,” Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said on Wednesday ahead of the International Quds Day this Friday.
“Today, the origin and source of all the sufferings, acts of violence and insecurity in the Muslim world, and other parts of the world, is the fake and criminal Zionist regime and its main supporter the (expansionist) United States,” he said.
The defense minister went on to say that on the Quds Day, Muslims and freedom-seekers around the world will condemn violence, extremism, terrorism and occupation by shouting “Death to Israel”.
The International Quds Day is an annual event during which demonstrators express their solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposition to the occupation of the Palestinian territories by the Zionist regime of Israel.
The day is seen as the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who officially declared the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day back in 1979.
This year, Muslims world over will mark the International Quds Day on June 23.
