President.ir- President Rouhani met with the Prime Minister of Iraq and congratulated victories of the Iraqi government, army and popular forces in their fight against terrorism adding: �The liberation of Mosul is a symbol of an end to terrorism and victory of Iran, Iraq, Syria and all countries in the region that are combatting the scourge of terrorism�.

In the meeting with Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Tuesday in Tehran, the President added: �The Islamic Republic of Iran, which considers victory against terrorists and Iraqi nation�s security as its own victory and security, has been, and will always be, by the Iraqi nation�.

Describing the intensification terrorist acts in the region as a part of vicious plot by the Zionists, Dr Rouhani added: �Combatting terrorism must not make us forget the issue of Quds and the threat of the Zionist Regime in the region�.

There is no obstacle on the way of development and deepening of Tehran-Baghdad relations, said Rouhani adding: �Tehran is willing to establish stronger ties in all fields with Baghdad and, without a doubt, cementing and deepening ties between the two countries is what both Iranian and Iraqi nations want to serve common interests�.

Referring to deep cultural and religious commonalities between the two peoples� the President also said: �Facilitating visa issuance has a significant effect on the process of developing tourism, which in turn can strengthen cooperation in the fields of trade, science, culture, and pilgrimage�.

On the extensive potentials in the two countries to deepen economic and trade cooperation, he also stressed prompt implementation of agreements made and removing obstacles including in banking, adding: �The two governments and nations have the required will and willingness to strengthen these ties�.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran also referred to the importance of dredging Arvand River within the framework of the existing agreements between the two countries.

Dr Rouhani went on to mention the significance of protecting the territorial integrity of countries in the region, saying: �Geographical changes and dividing countries is unacceptable and not to the benefit of any country in the region and the Islamic Republic of Iran supports an integrated and united Iraq and, without a doubt, any move with the aim of undermining unity and integrity in Iraq will benefit no one and is unacceptable�.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister of Iraq, Haider al-Abadi stressed that Iraq is determined to develop its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields, adding: �The Iraqi government is willing to deepen its cooperation with Iran in all fields, especially in trade�.

Describing more cooperation between all countries of the region, especially Tehran and Baghdad essential in combatting terrorism, he said: �ISIS terrorists recognise no borders and limitations and all countries must cooperate in combatting this common threat�.
