MNA � American airplane giant Boeing will deliver its first plane to Iran within a month, an official of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Planning has said.

Earlier in 2015, Iran and Boeing had successfully hit a deal by which the latter airline industry giant agreed to sell 80 planes to Iran. The preliminary agreement had been subject to restrictions set by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury.

Only recently has it endorsed Boeing's lucrative deal with Iran to sell 80 such planes, along with allowing purchase by Iran of 100 Airbus different models. The first Boeing to land in Tehran will be a Boeing 777, famous and much vaunted for its flight security. The plane will be operated by Iran Air (Homa). The plane is part of the deal which includes 79 other short- and long-range Boeing planes to renew Iran's antiquated air fleet. Boeing 777 is the plane the order for which the company received from Turkish Airlines, and now with the latter unwilling to receive it, Iran will be its destination.

Asghar Fakhrieh Kashan, deputy-Minister of Roads and Urban Planning, confirmed the news for Mehr News; "this is the brand-new plane, Boeing 777 which will be landing in Tehran's Mehrabad Airport; the first date when Boeing is supposed to deliver its first plane is 2018; however, our order matched this Boeing model and it is a propitious time to receive one," he said.

Iran had received 3 Airbuses earlier, with the last having landed in Mehrabad Airport late March.
