IRNA � A senior cleric said here on Friday that the recent US missile attack on Syria was a cover-up of US efforts to safeguard terrorists in this Arab country.


Friday prayers substitute leader Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani made the remarks in his sermons to a large number of worshipers in Tehran.

Touching upon the alleged use of chemical weapons by Syria, the senior cleric said the world powers themselves have created terrorists and Israel and now are accusing the Syrian government of using chemical weapons in that country.

According to Western media the US launched dozens of cruise missiles Thursday night on a Syrian airfield in response to the alleged use of chemical weapons in Khan Shaykhun near Idleb.
