Certain Persian Gulf littoral states purchase security: Defense min.

IRNA – Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said on Monday some littoral states of the Persian Gulf buy their security and prepare the ground for presence of foreigners in the region.

Speaking in a local ceremony, he rejected this policy and noted that security should be based on internal capabilities.

Providing security is the raison d’etre of governments and they have a duty to ensure security for the people, Dehqan said.

He noted that security establishment is not a responsibility which could be delgated to others.

“We should be always ready to defend the country against enemies’ surprise attacks.”

Defense minister said that threats against Iran are increasing and we should develop our capabilities to get ready for difficult conditions.
