IRNA – The US wrestlers will participate in the 2017 Wrestling World Cup if foreign ministry issues visas for them, said Minister of Youth and Sports, Masood Soltanifar, on Tuesday.
The 2017 World Cup is to be held in Western Iranian city of Kermanshah in February.
‘If the Iranian Foreign Ministry decides to issue visas for the US wrestlers, they can participate in the 2017 Wrestling World Cup,’ said Soltanifar.
“We welcome the presence of US wrestlers in the 2017 Kermanshah World Cup,” Soltanifar said.
The US President, Donald Trump, on Friday put a four-month hold on allowing refugees into the United States and temporarily barred travelers from Iran and six other Muslim countries.
Iranian Foreign Ministry reacted to the decision, vowing to take reciprocal action.
In a statement on Sunday, the Foreign Ministry had said a special committee will review the presence of the US wrestling team in Kermanshah Wrestling World Cup.
