Syrian opposition denies claims of opposing Iran
Sputnik News- Syrian opposition has nothing against Iran addressing the parties during the opening session of Astana talks, member of the oppositions delegation Yahya Aridi told Sputnik on Monday, refuting media allegations.

Earlier inthe day media reported that the opposition was againstIran speaking atthe opening ofthe talks.

"Its part ofthe protocol, it will go asit was established," Aridi said.

The Syrian government and the armed opposition are negotiating behindthe closed doors. Damascus delegation is set tospeak first, followed bythe armed opposition, Russia, Iran, Turkey, the United States and the United Nations. The political opposition said earlier onMonday that their delegation would not participate inthe talks, butwould wait forthe results ofthe negotiations.

This is the first time, when Damascus and the armed opposition sit together atthe negotiating table sincethe start ofthe conflict inthe Arab country. Kazakh side expects the meeting tolast throughTuesday.
