MNA– University of Tehran has been placed among a list of 500 institutions in the GreenMetric Ranking of World Universities 2016.
On the basis of the latest report by UI GreenMetric Ranking of World Universities, University of Tehran, with a total score of 3109, has occupied the 431st position on the Overall Ranking 2016 list.
UI GreenMetric World University Ranking has ranked universities worldwide according to six indicators including setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water, and transportation, and education for the past 6 years.
In general, the ranking is an important initiative to promote sustainability in higher education institutions globally.
Instruments are based on a broad philosophy that encompasses the three Es: Environment, Economics and Equity.
Scoring for each item will be numeric so that the data can be processed statistically. Scores will be simple counts of things, or responses on a scale of some sort.
Accordingly, University of Tehran acquired 196 points for Setting and Infrastructure, 387 for Energy and Culture Change, 1152 for Waste, 200 for Water, 751 for Transportation and 423 for Education to enjoy an aggregate total of 3109 points to land in the 431st place overall.
