Turkmenistan agrees new gas deal with Iran

IRNA Turkmenistan agreed an MoU on gas exports to the Islamic Republic of Iran which means the country's gas exports to Iran will continue, an official at Iran Petroleum Ministry said on Friday.

Speaking to IRNA, the official said the details of the deal will be worked out by the two countries' experts.

An Iranian delegation has been in Ashgabat in the past few days to discuss a new agreement following problems created between the two countries on the price of gas and also the amount of debt which Turkemenistan claims Iran owes to it due to the gas sold to Iran between 2007 and 2009.
