Terrorists in Aleppo are continuing to shell humanitarian corridors. Since a humanitarian pause came into effect on Thursday, the corridors have been under frequent shelling and sniper fire.

On Saturday, it was reported that al-Nusra Front terrorist group and Ahrar al-Sham rebels what are considered tobe "moderate" bythe West are not letting the International Committee ofRed Cross (ICRC) mission toevacuate the wounded fromeastern Aleppo.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has called on all the countries who could influence the militants inAleppo tourge them toallow international humanitarian missions access tothe city.

All humanitarian corridors that should be used bycivilians and militants toleave Aleppo are blocked bymilitants. The corridors are constantly undermilitants' fire, Lt. Gen. Sergei Rudskoy, the chief ofthe Russian General Staff's Main Operational Directorate, said.

The humanitarian pause was aimed toensure the safe evacuation ofunarmed militants and civilians fromeastern Aleppo througheight humanitarian corridors. The Russian General Staff said earlier that the pause was extended forone day, from08:00 to16:00 local time onSaturday. It is no surprise that the shelling ofthe humanitarian corridors continues because Western-backed rebels are not interested inending the violence, said Catherine Shakdam, director ofprograms atthe Shafaqna Institute ofMiddle Eastern Studies.

"Were stuck inthe same vicious cycle, where you have Western powers accusing Russia, Iran, and ofcourse Damascus ofnot allowing civilians torun away fromthe conflict zone. But then atthe same time, when there is a ceasefire agreed upon, and a humanitarian corridor is set up, then this happens. And those moderates are backed byWestern powers," she said inan interview withRT. She underscored that the West and Western media do not want toadmit that Russia and Damascus are trying tohelp civilians inAleppo.

Instead, they accuse them ofcommitting war crimes. As forWestern powers, "it has been proven time and time again onthe ground bythis simple fact that they are backing and supporting those so-called moderates, who are infact terror radicals they are the ones enabling them; they are the ones committing war crimes not the other way around," she added. Meanwhile, onFriday, the Russian General Staff said that terrorists used the humanitarian pause inAleppo toreinforce and prepare new attacks onthe outskirts ofthe city.

"A group ofover 1,200 militants, including 30 suicide-bombers, is preparing an attack onAleppo fromsouth-west. They have tanks, armored vehicles and over20 pickups withheavy machine guns," Rudskoy said.
