Ahmadinejad writes to new UN chief

TEHRAN – Iran’s former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday wrote a letter to the new UN Secretary General António Guterres.

In the letter, Ahmadinejad called for the revocation of the “unfair and unpopular” veto power at the UN.

He also suggested that the headquarters of the United Nations be transferred out of the U.S. as its current location has “paved the ground for U.S. influence” over the international body.

He also suggested that the UN broadcast its activities in detail via a dedicated TV channel.
