Energy minister arrives in Denmark to meet Danish counterpart

Tehran, Sept 22, IRNA Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian left Tehran for Copenhagen for meeting ministers of energy and environment of Denmark and also visiting several big electricity power plants.

The Iranian energy minister will also tour the big industrial complexes of Denmark in addition to visiting the Scandinavian country's water and electricity power plants.

Chitchian's visit takes place at the official invitation of his Danish counterpart

In late May, Danish Ambassador to Tehran Danny Annan said his country was willing to boost trade exchanges with Iran.

At an economic meeting in this northeastern Iranian province on Tuesday, Annan said Denmark enjoys the 80-year-old diplomatic relations with Iran and the country did not cut those ties in sanctions era.

Anti-Iran sanctions were lifted on January 26.

He expressed hoped that the two countries would resume trade exchange they had in the past.

Referring to considerable economic capacities in Iran, Annan called for further bilateral cooperation in line with national interests.

Also, he pointed to agricultural potentials in this province that are good ground for mutual ties.

In the area of water, he said, his country is ready to share experiences with Iran.

The Danish ambassador arrived in Birjand this morning to get familiarized with investment and economic capacities here during a two-day visit.
