Ashgabat, Sept 16, IRNA � Deputy managing director of Boeing Company said that it has no problem for selling airplanes to Iran and conditions are ripe for obtaining license from Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).


In an exclusive interview with IRNA on Friday on the sidelines of the press conference on first World Conference on Sustainable Transportation in Ashgabat, Martin Benturd evaluated the conditions for obtaining license from OFAC to sell airplanes to the Iranian firms as positive.

Currently, Boeing is engaged in talks with the Iranian companies and it is optimistic about the results of the negotiations with the Iranian companies, said Benturd.

OFAC is a financial intelligence and enforcement agency of the US Treasury Department.

The Road and Urban Development Minister Abbas Akhoundi announced progress in talks with Airbus and Boeing in Majlis Development Commission one month ago, saying that OFAC license has not yet been issued.

However, negotiating parties are optimistic about the talks, he said, noting that it is expected to lead the country's aerospace industry out of the current situation by finalizing the deals.
Meanwhile, secretary of Airplanes Companies Association Maqsoud As'adi-Samani has said that OFAC delay in issuing sales license to the Iranian companies is illogical.

Following the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and removal of sanctions, the US Treasury Department should hasten issuing license for selling airplanes to the Iranian companies.
