Tehran, Sept 13, IRNA � Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday that national census will play a very decisive role in successful carrying out of Resistance Economy.


Addressing officials in charge of housing and population census headquarters in Tehran, the Supreme Leader said the country's problems could be solved through proper running of Resistance Economy.

'If all the doors of the world are opened to us, but the country's economy fails to be inward-looking, it will be regarded as a futile effort,' the Supreme Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei advised people from all walks of life to partake in the upcoming national housing and population census and provide the officials with precise information.

Census plays a significant role in the country's planning in terms of identifying resources and the country's needs, Ayatollah Khamenei said.

People should keep in mind that the information will be kept confidential and there is no room for any concern, the Supreme Leader said.

Census help officials properly recognize the country's needs and not to be surprised by changes or ongoing developments, the Supreme Leader said.

'Regretfully, the status of census in our country is outdated and even some officials suffer lack of information in some sectors,' the Supreme Leader said.

Exact information and census are perquisite to sound implementation of Resistance Economy, underlined the Supreme Leader.

The officials should pay attention to aging population and prepare grounds for rendering timely services to elderly people, the Supreme Leader said.
