A containership owned by South Korea�s Hyundai Merchant Marine Co. has berthed at Iran�s Shahid Rajaee Port in the southern Hormozgan Province, said head of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Organization Ebrahim Idani on Saturday.

�Henceforth, the South Korean shipping line will operate two weekly services, loading and unloading 4,000 TEUs in Shahid Rajaei,� the official was quoted by IRNA as saying. Hyundai Merchant Marine Co. is South Korea�s second largest shipping line.

Last month, chairman of the Shipping Association of Iran confirmed that all restrictions on Iranian shipping companies have been lifted following the removal of international sanctions in January. �With the easing of the sanctions, Iranian vessels are allowed to freely sail around the world.

Likewise, foreign ships are permitted to enter Iranian territorial waters,� he was quoted as saying. The nuclear-related restrictions undermined Tehran�s economic and banking ties to the outside world for almost four years.
