Tehran, June 7, IRNA � An Iranian official said the thick dust which covered parts of the country on Monday originated from Syria and Iraq.


The chairman of the taskforce on dust particles Ziaoddin Shoaie said that based on satellite information, 90 percent of the dust clouds affecting Iran comes from foreign countries.

Regarding regional environmental situation, he said, the process of fighting dust is a lengthy one.

He said many international statements and plans proposed by Iran have created further attention to the issue at an international scale.
