Leader’s top military aide warns against enemies’ penetration plots

TEHRAN (FNA)- Top Military Aide to the Iranian Supreme Leader Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi called on Iranian officials to keep vigilant against the plots hatched by the US officials to influence and penetrate into the country’s decision-making bodies.

“One of the tactics used by the enemies is to penetrate into different decision-making bodies,” Rahim Safavi said, addressing a gathering in the Central city of Isfahan Tuesday afternoon.

The Leader’s top aide noted that the enemies have changed their tactics and instead of conventional war they are trying to penetrate into the decision-making bodies.

Major General Rahim Safavi’s remarks came after Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei underlined in April that Iran cannot trust the US and its western allies for their bad record in complying with their commitments.

Addressing members of the cabinet and the parliament’s presiding board and judiciary officials in Tehran, the Leader said it is typical of the US to do unethical and immoral moves and actions, and added, “The Americans cannot be trusted and, in addition to the Americans, certain other western states are also the same; hence, we should put trust in our own abilities and the US officials’ positions and performance is also a confirmation of the same fact.”

Ayatollah Khamenei underscored his support for the government, parliament and judiciary to settle the Iranian people’s problems and improve their living conditions, and underlined that any measure taken by the three branches of power should be deemed necessary and meet the national interests.

He also stressed the importance of supporting domestic production, and said, “Production should be given special attention in both the industrial and agricultural sectors.”
