Iran, Japan hold meeting on wastewater industry

Mashad, May 19, IRNA The Islamic Republic of Iran and Japan held a meeting on 'Water and Wastewater Industry' in the city of Mashad on Thursday.

Some 22 experts from Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (jccme) and some 70 experts from Iran attended the meeting on Thursday.

The aim behind the meeting was optimum use of Japan's technical know-how in the field and absorbing the country's investors to help implement developing projects in Iran.

Managing Director of Mashad Water and Wastewater Company Alireza Tabatabaei said during sanctions era ICCME initiated cooperation with Iran in 2010.

The meeting is also to introduce grounds as well as opportunities for Japanese investors inside Iran.

Mashad cosmopolitan city with its brilliant geographical location could be regarded as good marketplace for shipment of products to Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, he said.

Head of Japanese delegation said their presence in Iran will be regarded as a suitable opportunity to explore grounds for broadening of cooperation with Iranian companies.

Such meetings help broaden cooperation between the two sides, he said.
