Tehran, May 18, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari on Tuesday strongly condemned yesterday bloody terrorist attacks in Iraq.
Jaberi Ansari underscored that supporting Iraq and Syria in the fight against terrorism is the same as safeguarding the global security.
At least 200 Iraqi people were killed or injured in four bloody Daesh terrorist explosion in Sadr township in Baghdad on Tuesday.
Jaberi Ansari also offered condolences to the Iraqi people and government and the bereaved families of the victims.
The spokesman reiterated that escalation of terrorist attacks against the Iraqi citizens, once again demonstrates the continued failure of terrorists in different battlefields.
Facing defeats, the terrorists spare no efforts to take revenge from the Iraqi government, people, army and civil forces, he said.
‘Reinforcing the Iraqi government and people in countering terrorism and takfiri forces are regional and international responsibilities,’ he said.
Citing terrorism as a global and trans-regional threat, he said Iraq and Syria are in frontline of tackling the terrorists.
On current Iraq’s security conditions, he said, consolidation of the political process and strengthening of legal institutions are vital factor in disappointing and frustrating terrorists and their supporters.
