Iran to export petchems to Egypt

TEHRAN, Apr. 23 (MNA) Deputy director of Irans Petrochemical Employers Association has announced the countrys readiness to resume petrochemical exports to Egypt.


Parviz Sahafzadeh made remarks saying before the imposition of sanctions, certain petrochemical and polymeric products were deployed to Egypt by some Iranian companies in the form of single-piece shipment.

The official highlighted that Iran and Egypt are both members of the specialized working group in petrochemical industry at D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation; at the current time, Iranian companies are ready to launch petrochemical trade with Egypt.

The official deemed North African countries like Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia as proper markets for petrochemicals asserting there exist no limitations on exporting Iranian petchems to these countries.

The D-8 specialized working group for petrochemical industry will soon convene in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, noted Sahafzadeh adding an Iranian delegation will travel to Cairo in May to attend the session.

He went on to stress that all Iranian petrochemical products currently have their own customers though diversifying the markets andpetrochemical and polymeric products remains as one major policy pursued in the post sanction era.

Other Iranian oil officials like Iranian Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs Amir Hossein Zamaninia and Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Roknodin Javadi have also welcomed the idea of deploying petchems to Egypt.
