Iranian President Hassan Rouhanisays fighting against terrorism and terrorist groups such as Daesh is an important duty for all responsible governments in the region and the world.
Rouhani made the remarks in a phone conversationwith Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Wednesday.
Although some countries pretend to be combating terrorism, unfortunately they are strengthening it through militaryaid to Daesh and buying oil from it, he said.
The Islamic Republic of Iran considers stability and security ofIraq as its own stability and security and will make efforts to enhance it, theIranian chief executive said, adding,Tehran will support the Iraqi government and nation in their fight against terrorism and will not spare any help in this regard.
The Iraqi premier, for his part, provided Rouhani with a report on the latest political and security developments in his country.
He described Daesh as a threat to the region and the world, saying thatpromotion of cooperation against Daesh benefits both the region and the world.
The Iraqi government and people are determined to fight Daesh firmly and to root out terrorism in their homeland, Abadi added, noting thatBaghdad is keen to boost ties with Tehran in political, security, economic and cultural fields.

The Takfiri terror group has sufferedmajor blows from the Iraqi forcesand fighters from Popular Mobilization units over the past months and is increasingly losing areas under its control.
