Tayyebnia: Without JCPOA oil exports would have reached zero

Tehran, April 19, IRNA Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Ali Tayyebnia said in case the nuclear agreement with the West had not been reached the second stage of the sanctions would have been imposed against Iran and as a result its oil exports would have reached zero.

He further remarked that Iran's export of crude oil and gas condensates was 2.500 million barrels per day which dropped to 900 thousand to one million barrels under the 11th government.

Stressing that with the implementation of JCPOA so far 700 thousand barrels of oil has been added to oil exports, the minister said on the basis of the second stage of the US sanctions it was expected that one million barrels would be deducted from Irans exports in which case oil exports would have reached zero.

Commenting on the 'economy of resistance' he said it is knowledge-based, adding that it is outward looking and not isolated.

Elsewhere in his remarks he pointed to the international negotiations in the post-sanction era and said agreements have been signed with France and Italy for financing which will enable the country to strengthen its production.
