Iran calls for rapid ending of Armenia, Azerbaijan clashes

Tehran, April 5, IRNA – Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi said that Iran is ready to use all its might to remove tension, establish ceasefire, and settle disputes between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

In a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev to follow up implementation of bilateral agreements, Vaezi invited the warring sides to show self-restraint.

He said Iran favors stability and tranquility in the region and among its neighbors and added, ‘The Islamic Republic of Iran is fully ready to use all within its might … and calls for cessation of clashes as soon a possible.’

‘Continued clashes will lead to destruction and loss to peoples of the region and their interests,’ said the Iranian minister.
Mustafayev thanked Iran’s principled stand to settle the crisis and to contribute to cessation of war and bloodshed.
