Iran, Syria stress fight against terrorism

TEHRAN, Mar. 29 (MNA) In a phone conversation after the victories of Syrians in Palmyra, Iranian defense minister and his Syrian counterpart agreed to intensify military measures till the total eradication of terrorism.


Continuance and intensification of military operations till the removal of the cancer-like tumor of terrorism from Syria is necessary, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan told his Syrian counterpart Colonel General Fahd Jassim al-Freij in a phone conversation on Tuesday.

The officials held the talk following the recent successes of Syrian forces in war against terrorists and reclamation of the ancient city of Palmyra in the center of the Arab country..

During the same dialogue, the Iranian commander extended greetings upon the latest victories and congratulated Syrian people and authorities, especially President Bashar Assad and General Fahd Jassim al-Freij.

Restating Iran's continuous and perseverant support for Syria, Dehghan attributed the recent wins to Divine helps, strong faiths, and the solidarity of Syrian government, people, and armed forces.

The Syrian General, for his part, thanked his Iranian counterpart for the phone call and extended deep gratitude of Syrians to the nation, government, and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the ceaseless support in war against terrorists and the their supporters.

Iran has palyed a bold role in the victory of Syrians over terrorists and the recent gains in Palmyra are the major steps toward the final triumph over the terrorists, highlighted Fahd Jassim al-Freij.
