Russian expert: Tehran, Moscow attempts for Syria becomes role model

Moscow, March 14, IRNA - Head of Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, Vladimir Zakharov said that Tehran-Moscow attempts to present a peaceful solution regarding Syria crisis have turned out to be a global role model.

Zakharov told IRNA that the Geneva talks to be held between Syrian sides today have been possible to a great extent because of Iran and Russia's attempts, cooperation and consultations.

He added that Tehran and Moscow cooperation is quite positive aiming at reinforcing Syrian Government to fight against problems most of which created in the wake of Western anti-Syrian measures.

He added that U.S. and its western and Arab allies' enmity is not with President al-Assad but they want to weaken Syria and turn it into another Libya.

On international attempts, he noted that United Nations Special Envoy for the Syria Crisis, Staffan de Mistura is trying hard to establish peace through national talks in Syria.

He added that Syria Government will also take advantage of negotiation opportunity for a compromise, gaining the support of opposition groups, their agreement and cooperation on fighting against terrorist groups.
