German economy minister to visit Iran

TEHRAN (ISNA)- German Minister of Economy and Energy Sigmar Gabriel plans to visit Iran, said Iranian Deputy Minister of Road and Transportation Asghar Fakhriyeh-Kashan.

“A joint commission would be established between Iran and Germany in May and we will host German minister here in Iran. During the commission more details on investment agreements will be discussed,” he said after a meeting with German Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy Matthias Machnig in Tehran.

During the meeting in Tehran, six railroad projects were introduced to Germans in a bid to speed up the projects through foreign finance.

The projects included Isfahan-Ahwaz, Hamedan-Sanandaj, Rasht-Astara, Kermanshah-Khosravi and Miyaneh-Tabriz-Bostanabad railroads.

The two sides reached an initial agreement and the negotiations were promising overall
