Tehran, Feb 29, IRNA Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari said that Irans Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is to visit six Asian countries soon.
During his weekly press briefing on Monday, he said the tour which is to start March 5 is in fact a part of Irans broad diplomatic attempts to make the best use of opportunities opened to the country after the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
He said the foreign minister will start his Asian tour from Jakarta, Indonesia, where he is to take part in the extraordinary session of the Organization of the Islamic Organization in support of al-Aqsa Mosque.
He will then proceed to Thailand, Brunei, New Zealand, Singapore, and Australia, the spokesman said.
According to the spokesman, a large economic delegation is to accompany the foreign minister in his Asian tour.
