Five defense technological achievements were unveiled on Monday in the presence of Defense Minister Brigade General Hossein Dehghan, which included Parskam detector, explosive and narcotics detector, explosion-proof polymer coatings, next generation NBC suits based on permeable membranes technology, and the production line for Obidoxime Chloride, one of the most important medicinal products used against chemical agents.
Brig. Gen. Dehghan, on the sidelines of the unveiling ceremony, told reporters Parskam detector by using ion mobility spectrometry detection and a visual and auditory warning system, is capable of detecting nerve, vesicatory, blood and choking chemical agents; this advanced device has applications in protecting the lives of soldiers and civilians in circumstances where the enemy is using chemical weapons against us.
Explaining about the explosive and narcotics detector, he said this device works on an ion spectrometry in high temperature, with high isolation capability and sensitivity. It can detect various kinds of explosives and narcotics such as heroin, methamphetamine, methadone, opiate, cocaine, crack cocaine and morphine.
He went on to discuss anti-shock and anti-explosion polymer coatings, saying this polymer coating due to having favorable mechanical properties, such as high energy absorption and high elasticity, is suitable for protecting buildings, equipment or any device which needs to be protected against mechanical, chemical or explosive agents.
He added that the coatings have also applications in non-military industries such as construction, food, marine, mining, oil, gas, petrochemical, wind, hydro and biogas energy industries.
The next generation NBC suits protect against chemical and biological agents through the use of permeable membranes technology, he said.
He further added that the production line for Obidoxime Chloride medicine has inaugurated for the very first time in the country. The medicine used to be one of the sanctioned drugs.
Despite sanctions imposed on Irans defense sector, the countrys Armed Forces by relying on domestically-manufactured achievements and equipment will always defeat enemies in reaching their objectives, he stressed.
