Rouhani: JCPOA to lead to enhanced Tehran-Baku ties

Tehran, Jan 21, IRNA President Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday that lifting of sanctions prepared appropriate atmosphere for enhanced Tehran-Baku economic ties.

He made the remarks in a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan Republic President Ilham Aliyev.
The Azeri president felicitated Rouhani on implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
Rouhani said that Iran has always considered Azerbaijan Republic security and progress as its own.
He said that relations between the two governments should be a model for the region and that Iran has no limitation for development of economic, trade and cultural cooperation with the Azeri republic.

Iranian president said that there are suitable opportunities for expansion and strengthening of ties in the fields of energy, investment, transportation, trade and tourism between Iran and Azerbaijan Republic.

President Rouhani expressed hope that by double efforts of both governments the railway link between the two states would be completed soon.

President Aliyev felicitating the implementation of JCPOA called the achievement as a big honor for Iranian government and nation.

Aliyev added that surely all Iran's friends in the region and world are happy with this event.

Referring to plenty of commonalties in history, civilization and religion between Iran and Azerbaijan Republic, President Aliyev said that his country is willing to develop and deepen all-out ties with Iran.

He expressed hope that his future visit to Iran would prepare the ground for promotion of bilateral ties and more cooperation in regional issues.
