Senior negotiator rules out delay on JCPOA implementation

Tehran, Jan 11, IRNA - Deputy Foreign Minister for Euro-American Affairs Majid Takht-e Ravanchi on Monday ruled out any delay on implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of his meeting with the head and members of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, he declined to give a specific date for implementation of the JCPOA.

He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran fulfilled all its obligations as per JCPOA, adding that it took long time to discharge the duty on part of Iran.

The other side had a much easier task than Iran as they knew that they should carry out their commitments and lift sanctions upon IAEA declaration, he said.

Renovation of Arak nuclear plant was among Iranian commitments for which the executive works are underway, he said.

Takht-e Ravanchi said that modifications for the nuclear sites have been carried out in line with JCPOA and that responsibility of each party has been specified by the context of the nuclear deal.

In case of the other party violates JCPOA, Iran will pursue reciprocity, he said.

Iran's strategy is based on sound interaction with the international community mainly its neighbors, Ravanchi said.

He cautioned against those who are against implementation of the JCPOA both in the region and the US congress, calling for vigilance of the Iranian government.
