Pointing to the extension of Persian language in Russia, he said 15 Russian students attended the summer language teaching program in Tehran this year and special language classes in Russia were also conducted.

The newly established center can and should further promote Persian language, he added.

Maleki emphasized the necessity of establishing bilateral collaboration between academic centers and universities from both sides. He hoped the Saadi Foundation would turn into an independent Persian language development center covering a larger arena in the near future.

A Persian language website was also unveiled, creating a platform for Russian enthusiasts to get more familiar with the official language of Iran.
