Larijani: Iran made West to lift sanctions

Qom, Dec 24, IRNA Iran was a successful country in nuclear talks and could make the Western countries remove anti-Iran sanctions, Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani said Wednesday evening in this central Iranian province.

At a local gathering here, Larijani said Iran could preserve its nuclear knowledge after the landmark nuclear agreement with the six world powers which took place on July 14.

In near future, sanctions imposed on the country for years will be removed and 'this action is a great and important issue,' Larijani noted.

With the help of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution's guidelines, Tehran could act wisely in dealing with the nuclear issue and important regional developments as well, he stressed.

Today, he underlined, world states confess that regional stability is impossible without Iran.

On December 15, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors adopted a landmark resolution on Iran possible military dimensions (PMD) case.

On that day, the IAEA Board of Governors voted in favor of a draft resolution proposed by the six world powers to declare end to investigations into Iran's nuclear activities in the past.

So, it is predicted that time of lifting anti-Iran sanctions will be in the next few days as it was agreed after the July 14 nuclear agreement between Iran and P5+1- the US, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany.

According to the agreement, better known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), limits will be put on Irans nuclear activities in exchange for, among other things, the removal of all nuclear-related economic and financial sanctions against the country.
