Tehran will continue support to effective Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue

Tehran, Dec 10, IRNA Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-Africa Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Thursday that Tehran will continue encouraging effective and real Yemeni-Yemeni talks.


Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a telephone conversation with the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.
They discussed Yemeni developments on the threshold of Geneva meeting on the impoverished country.
Appreciating the envoy's efforts in Yemeni crisis, Amir-Abdollahian said that Tehran has from the beginning rejected military approaches and has always underlined diplomatic means.
Tehran will continue encouraging effective and real Yemeni-Yemeni talks, he said.
He called for an immediate halt to the Saudi military aggression on Yemen concurrent with the upcoming Geneva peace talks scheduled to open next week.
UN envoy also expressed optimism about the establishment of ceasefire prior to the beginning of Geneva peace talks on Yemen.
Appreciating Iran's contribution to diplomatic settlement of Yemeni crisis, he also urged all sides help the talks achieve peace.
