Araqchi says agreement made to close PMD file

Vienna, Dec 7, IRNA Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi said on Monday that Iran and the G5+1 have reached 'good agreement' on presentation of the resolution to the Board of Governors and closure of the PMD file.

Araqchi, who is the head of the Headquarters for Implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, told reporters that Iran and G5+1 party made agreement to close the PMD case with the IAEA Board of Governors.
He said the G5+1 states have prepared draft resolution and there were talks with the party on various dimensions of it.
'I think there is very good agreement now on the issue and the resolution should lead to closure of the PMD case.'
He said naturally, the G5+1 will offer the draft to the Board and it will make necessary decision on December 15.
To a question on Iran's expectation of the issue, he said, 'Our expectation is completely clear and it has already been said.
The so-called PMD case should be closed with regards to the report of IAEA Chief Yukiya Amano.
The second Iran-G5+1 joint commission convened in Vienna twice on Monday in presence of Iranian representatives Araqchi, Majid Takht-e Ravanchi, Hamid Baeedinejad and Reza Najafi.
