Ayatollah Amoli-Larijani: Syrian crisis to resolve by Syrians' vote

Tehran, Nov 23, IRNA -- Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli-Larijani blasted the western countries for supporting the terrorist groups in Syria, and said that the problems of the Muslim country can only be resolved by relying on its nations' vote.

Amoli-Larijani made the remarks addressing senior judiciary officials in a weekly meeting in Tehran on Monday.

The head of Iran's judiciary, meantime, strongly criticized the United Nations for supporting the arrogant powers instead of safeguarding the rights of the people who have been oppressed by their governments across the world.

'Unfortunately, the UN General Assembly that should work for protecting the rights of the oppressed people is supporting the oppressive and arrogant powers and it issues resolutions that are sponsored by those countries that do not meet the most basic human rights against Iran and Syria,' Amoli-Larijani added.

Amoli-Larijani pointed to the UN General Assembly's recent resolution against Syria, and said some of 'the paragraphs of this resolution which has been approved on Syria contain statements against the Islamic Republic of Iran; everyone knows that the Americans and Europeans are behind the scene of such resolutions.'

The Iranian judiciary chief reiterated that the logical solution to the Syrian crisis comes through the public vote, and said, 'The Islamic Republic of Iran has stated based on a clear logic that it is the natural right of the people and in Syria, the Occupied Palestinian Lands, Bahrain and other countries that are threatened by the plots of the global arrogance to determine their fate through people's vote.'
