Redesigning Arak reactor lasts for 5 years

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Spokesman of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said the period of redesigning Arak heavy reactor would last for 5 years.

The document of Arak Heavy Reactor has referred to a five-year period and we are going to present a roadmap for the five-year period and a one-year period is required for designing the reactor, he said.

It may last for 2-3 months and then we will enter the hard phase, he said, adding the whole period is about 5 years and we hope that it will be conducted as soon as possible.

Kamalvandi noted that the most important document signed is the document for redesigning Arak Heavy Reactor which is a very valid one.

He noted that representatives of P5+1 countries as well as the EU representative signed the deal on behalf of 28 countries and they vowed to cooperate with Iran in different phases.

The Iranian official warned that in case any of the countries signing the deal refuses to live up to its commitments, it will endanger its image
