Implementation of JCPOA on a correct path: Boroujerdi

Beirut, Nov 18, IRNA A senior Iranian lawmaker said here that implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is moving on a right way.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Chairman of Iran's Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, made the remarks during an interview with Lebanon's daily newspaper Al Akhbar.

Implementation of the JCPOA will benefit all, said Boroujerdi, adding if the other side makes any damage in the implementation process, Iran will return to the start point.

Today, talks and its details have entered a new phase which is keeping to nuclear agreement as well as supervising its implementation, said the lawmaker.

'We try not to let the enemy abuse the agreement,' stressed he.

Iran's opposition to the nuclear bomb is not due to the Non-Proliferation Treaty's (NPT's) regulations, but due to the Supreme Leader's fatwa that forbids production or application of nuclear arms, added Boroujerdi.

They well know that Iran is so serious to fight with terrorism, said he, adding they need Iran's help and cooperation regarding that issue.

The Iranian nation is always vigilant against plots, noted he.

Iran's security institutions including Intelligence Ministry and Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have been making their all-out efforts not to let the West influence on the country.

So, he noted, the most important issue after nuclear agreement is to watch the process of its implementation.

At present, European and non-European countries endeavor to hold economic talks with Iran and ink related agreements with the Iranian side, said he.

Iran is the safest and most stable country in the Middle East region, that is why those countries strive for making investment in it, the parliamentarian said.

Europeans are in dire need of Iranian markets because they are suffering from economic crisis, said he.

Commenting on Palestine, he said Iran's foreign policy attaches great importance to the important issue of Palestine.

Iran interacts with all Palestinian groups and movements not with individuals, said he.

On Syria, he said the reason why Iran supports Syria today is that the nation's courageous enough to support resistance movement against Israel.

The US insists on Iran's presence in Vienna talks on Syria, said he, adding the international conditions have changed today and all are willing to Iran's participation in the negotiations about Syria.

Saudi Arabia, he stressed, is the only opponent of Iran's presence in the Syrian talks; however, no one cares its voice.

On fate of Iran's former ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi who missed during the September 24 Mina disaster in Saudi Arabia, Boroujerdi said Iran has been pursuing the issue.

Iran will assume that he has been kidnapped, unless the Saudis prove his death, he noted.

Our problem with Saudis is due to not only Mina tragedy but also their crimes in Yemen, he said.

The crimes they have been committing in Yemen remind us of Iraq former dictator Saddam Hussein's massacres, he stressed.
