South Pars phases 15&16 ready for inauguration: Zangeneh

TEHRAN Nov. 08 (Shana) Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said phases 15 and 16 of the supergiant South Pars gas field are ready for inauguration and will official come on-stream before November 20.

He said the two phases will be inaugurated by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani but the official date for the ceremony is yet to be fixed.
"[Those who say Iran cannot produce as much crude oil as it boasts following the sanctions] had better wait and see how Iran's output will boost after the sanctions removal," Zangeneh told reporters on the sidelines of a conference in Tehran on Sunday.

"Some countries act like OPEC has no role in the market," he added.
He also spoke about Persian Gulf Star Refinery project, expressing hope that fulfillment of its first phase will bring Iran to self-sufficiency in gasoline production.

Persian Gulf Star Refinery processes 5 to 12 million liters a day of gasoline which is tantamount to its phase I targeted output, manager of the refinery Ahmad Adib said on Saturday, adding that Iran will become self-sufficient in gasoline production once the project's first phase comes online.
The refinery is owned by Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Investment Company (49%), Oil Industry Pension Fund (33.1%) and National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) (17.9%).

Once fully operational, the refinery would produce 36 ml/d of high-octane gasoline and 14 ml/d of gasoil. Other products include 4 ml/d of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), 3 ml/d of jet fuel and 130 tons a day of sulfur.
Once the project's first phase becomes fully operational, other phases will come online each after 4 months.
