Iran, P5+1 discuss nuclear deal during Vienna talks - Foreign Minister

The P5+1 group Iran discussed implementation of the deal on Tehrans nuclear program, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said.



MOSCOW (Sputnik) On Friday, officials fromIran, Russia, the United States, China, France, the United Kingdom and Germany convened inVienna fortalks onthe Syrian crisis settlement. They also discussed other issues.

'We had discussions withthe G5+1 [P5+1, specially the Americans onexpediting the implementation ofthe commitments ofthe other side and we wanted tomake sure that these commitments will be implement indifferent areas ofthe JCPOA [Joint Comprehensive Plan ofAction]," Zarif told reporters, asquoted bythe Iranian IRNA news agency.


According tothe top Iranian diplomat, good progress was made onthe issue ofthe Arak heavy water reactor inthe country.

The Arak nuclear facility inthe Markazi province has been one ofthe stumbling blocks inthe nuclear talks betweenTehran and the six world powers, who fear that the research reactor could be used tomake weapons-grade plutonium.
"We talked aboutthe US measures which need tobe taken and forproviding guarantee toour trade partners inorder not toblock trade withIran and we achieved good agreements inthese fields and it was agreed towork more onthat," Zarif added.


On July 14, Iran and the P5+1 group ofRussia, the United States, China, the United Kingdom, France and Germany signed a historic deal toguarantee the peaceful nature ofTehrans nuclear activities inexchange forsanctions relief.
