Tehran, Oct 15, IRNA - Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi said on Thursday that the European Union is to officially lift economic sanctions leveled against Iran on Monday.

Speaking to reporters, Salehi said immediately after ratification of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the European Union is to officially announce termination of sanctions against Iran and at the same time the US president will terminate some sanctions and suspend remaining sanctions against Iran.

Iranian delegation is to depart for Vienna and if all things be on the right track, in a very strong possibility, the next Monday will be the day when the JCOPA will be ratified by the European Union, Salehi said.

Ratification of the JCPOA means that both sides have officially accepted it and will declare their approval, he said.

The exact time of implementation of the JCPOA will be specified in due time and this depends on Iran to carry out its commitments to make changes in Nataz and Fordo which are to be accomplished based on the 45-60 days of Roadmap, he said.

It is expected that JCPOA be fully implemented mostly by the end of December 2015, Salehi said.
