Mahan plane makes safe emergency landing

Tehran, Oct 15, IRNA An aircraft operated by the private Iranian airline Mahan Air has made a successful emergency landing at the Mehrabad International Airport on Thursday after facing a technical problem.

The aircraft, with 300 passengers onboard, touched down at the airport in Tehran and all its passengers and crew were safely disembarked.

The Mahan Air flight was en route from the Iranian capital to Bandar Abbas ,in southern Iran, when it reported an engine problem to the airport authorities.

The pilot called for emergency landing permission at Mehrabad Airport when he realized he has faced some engine problems.

The broken engine has later completely separated and hit the ground.

The passengers and crew are reported to be in good conditions.

The Mahan Air, with its 57 fleet, is a private airline based in Tehran. It operates scheduled domestic services and international flights to the Far East, Middle East, Central Asia, and Europe.
