Iran inaugurates first center of spatial data

Tehran, September 23, The Iran Project –On the occasion of Sacred Defense Week and the liberation anniversary of Abadan, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan inaugurated three projects on Saturday.

In the inauguration ceremony of the Iran’s first center of spatial data, the production line of the new generation of  navigation maps and the advanced printing and publishing center of the Armed Forces Geographical Organization, the defense minister said that the Armed Forces Geographical Organization as the key responsible to provide the spatial data service in Iran, has launched to establish an updated and well organized center to the various users.

Stressing the role of information technology, he went on to say that the opening of this center will enhance the official’s access to the spatial-based data, satellites maps and aerial imagery.

Dehghan also noted that the printing and publishing center of the Armed Forces Geographical Organization is equipped with the most updated systems and high-speed printing machines.
