Jahangiri assured of adequate medical services to Iranian pilgrims

Tehran, Sept 12, IRNA Head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Saeed Ohadi said on Saturday that the Iranian pilgrims injured in crane crash in holy Mecca were delivered emergency and adequate medical services.

First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri and Head of the Presidential Office Mohammad Nahavandian contacted Ohadi earlier to give guidelines for adequate medical services to Iranian pilgrims injured in crane crash in Mecca.

Ohadi told IRNA that in separate phone calls, Jahangiri and Nahavandian had ordered emergency measures to provide the injured Iranians with adequate medical services.

He said at least 150 people died and more than 250 people were injured when a crane collapsed in the Muslim holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. An Iranian was among the victims and 32 Iranians were injured.

He added that 25 Iranian injured received outpatient medical service, two undergone surgery and five are hospitalized.
A total of 61,000 Iranian pilgrims are in Saudi Arabia for Haj rituals.
