Tehran, Aug 25, IRNA � The production line of the Nasr air-launched cruise missile (ALCM) was inaugurated here Tuesday in a ceremony attended by Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan.

The ceremony was held in the second day of the Government Week.

Speaking on the sidelines of the ceremony, the minister stressed that development of the Iran's missile power aimed at reinforcing the combat power of the armed forces and increasing the level of the country's deterrence.

'The inauguration of Nasr air-launched cruise missile would increase the strength of tactical power of the Iranian military forces,' Dehqan said.

He reiterated that the Nasr missile system could be installed on different kinds of fighters.

The Islamic Republic has repeatedly said that its military might poses no threat to other countries and that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
