Tehran, Aug 15, IRNA - UN Resident Coordinator Gary Lewis on Saturday highlighted Iranian youth's role in progress of county in post-sanction era.

Speaking in a local ceremony, he added that large scale presence of Iranian girls and women in universities especially after 2000 is surprising.

Lewis said that Iranian youth are two-thirds of the country's population and 30 percent of the Iranian population are internet users.

The Iranian youth are keen to use modern technologies and are able to push their country forward in line with the UN targeted development programs, he added.

Referring to anti-Iran sanctions and its consequences, he noted that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action(JCPOA) increased hope for better future in the Iranian society and will prepare the ground for more active role of Iranian youth in the global economy.
