Ankara, August 5, IRNA – Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Wednesday that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will visit Turkey next week.
He said that the visit to Turkey of the Iranian foreign minister would be an opportunity to discuss regional issues and bilateral ties as well.
Cavusoglu acknowledged Iranian peace efforts in the region saying that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia would help to bring to an end the humanitarian crisis in Syria.
‘Ankara believes that Iranian peacemaking policy in the region cannot be ignored.’
Cavusoglu made the remarks in Malaysia, where he is attending the 48th meeting of ASEAN foreign ministers in Kuala Lumpur.
Cavusoglu after meeting with the US Secretary of State John Kerry told reporters that Turkey and the US will begin a joint campaign against ISIL soon.
