UNSC to recognzie Irans right for enrichment activities: Zarif

Tehran, July 15, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the United Nations Security Council is to recognize Irans right for nuclear enrichment.

He made the remark here on Wednesday morning while talking to reporters upon arrival from the Holy city of Mashhad where the shrine of the eighth Shiite Imam Reza lies. The Iranian nuclear negotiators left Vienna Tuesday night for Mashhad and then flew to Tehran on Wednesday morning after visiting the shrine.

Zarif said the Iranian nuclear deal has certain dimensions which would be explored in future.

He said the UNSC is to issue a statement next week to officially recognize Irans right to nuclear achievement.

He said the Iranian team started work on the nuclear issue at a time when the UNSC was focusing on Irans peaceful nuclear activities as a source of concern and imposed unjust sanctions against Iran to make the nation forsake its rights.

He said this means that the UNSC is to recognize the enrichment rights of a developing country.

Zarif said this achievement was made possible through the resistance and persistence of the Iranian nation which proved sanctions and pressures had no effect on them.

He stressed that the Iranian nation would stand against sanctions but show heroic flexibility in face of dialogue and respect.

The Iranian foreign minister also pointed to the dissatisfaction of the Zionist regime officials towards the results of the nuclear negotiations and said they mobilized media and press to express their unhappiness.

He further expressed gratitude for the efforts of his colleagues and deputies in the nuclear negotiating team as well as the press and media people for helping the process of talks.
