Zarif to join Vienna talks early Saturday

Tehran, June 25, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is to fly to Vienna, Austria, on Saturday morning (June 27) to join the nuclear talks.


According to US State Department spokesman John Kirby, US Secretary of State John Kerry will also fly to Vienna on Friday to take part in the nuclear talks ahead of a self-imposed June 30 deadline.

The deputy foreign ministers of Iran and those of the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany) had two meetings or over six hours of talks on Wednesday (the 8th day of their negotiations) with EU deputy foreign policy chief Helga Schmidt.

Irans senior negotiators Seyyed Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takht-e Ravanchi have started their talks with the representatives of the world powers on drafting the final agreement in Vienna since last Wednesday.

The negotiations were halted on Monday (June 22) as the Iranian deputy foreign ministers went to Luxembourg to negotiate with Schmidt and Mohammad Javad Zarif also went to Luxembourg to talk with foreign ministers of France, Germany and Britain.
