MP: Zarif remarks on nuclear negotiations convincing for Majlis

Tehran, May 24, IRNA An Iranian parliamentarian said what Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his deputy Abbas Araqchi offered to the legislative body on the process of nuclear talks was convincing to the Majlis.

Talking to IRNA on Sunday morning, Mohammad Sadat Ebrahimi said the general atmosphere of the parliament was relaxed during the remarks of the foreign minister who addressed Majlis in a closed-door session this morning.

The parliament started its closed-door session Sunday morning to hear Zarif talk about Irans nuclear negotiations with the six world powers.

Foreign ministry deputy and senior nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi is accompanying Zarif in the session which is presided over by Speaker Ali Larijani.

Araqchi and his colleague Majid Takht-e Ravanchi held the fourth round of nuclear talks Wednesday to Friday in Vienna.

Araqchi earlier said that drafting of the main text and its appendices at the expert and political levels was conducted during the three days.

Expert sessions on sanctions and nuclear issues were held simultaneously during the same period.

He pointed out that given the complexities and their wide dimensions, drafting of the text is slow.

A new round of meetings for drafting nuclear deal will begin as of Tuesday in Vienna.
